This is an actual Ammonite from Madagascar that has been cut in half to form a pair of cufflinks.The specimen  is around 150 million years old. These fossils have fascinated people throughout the ages. There is various lore surrounding ammonite fossils, but all seem to attribute health, prosperity, and good luck to the them. Originating from within the bactritoid nautiloids, the ammonoid cephalopods first appeared circa 400 million years ago and became extinct around 65 million years ago along with the dinosaurs.
